Records - Units
1- Introduction
Operational Units are the places where the workers perform their functions, whether they are Offshore, Onshore or extra units. These units will be essential for us to create embarks, disembarks and add workers in units managed onshore.
2 -Â Permissions
To access this functionality the permission âMaintain Unitsâ must be given to the responsible profiles to manage the registration.

3 -Â Registering a new Operational Unit
3.1Â To register a new operational unit, follow the path: Records > Crew Change > Units
3.2Â Done that, the screen âOperational Unitsâ will be displayed, listing all units (OUs) already registered on system. In this page is also possible to register a new unit by clicking on the button âAddâ.

3.3Â Next, a window will be opened containing the following tabs: Main, Vessel information, Validators, Radio Frequencies, Logistic and TR details.
3.4 TabâMainâ
In this tab will be added the basic information regarding the operational unit.

FIELD | DESCRIPTION |

Acronym | Unit acronym or abbreviation. Free text |
Description | Unitâs name. Free text |
Type | Onshore, Offshore or Extra. This will be categorized for DRAKE |
Color | Define a color that can be used in order to achieve customized reports in: Reports - Custom Queries and vacation coverage in: Tasks - Operation - Coverage Planning |
Base | Base means the âOnshoreâ unit. If the parameter is active and it has an address linked, it can be used on disembark schedule (rest period scheduled). |
Airport | The airport that will lead the workers to this unit. |
Cost Center | Cost center linked to the unit. This information can be predefined on: Records - Cost Center |
Initial Work Schedule | The initial shift of the unit. This information is predefined on: Records - Shifts |
Focus on local content | If the unit manager select this option, it will be used by DRAKE to calculate the percentage of local workers and expatriate onboard. This information is predefined on: Records - Local Content. |
3.6 Tab âVessel Informationâ
All information in these fields are free text data type. Here you can inform the data for internal query regarding the unit.
3.6 TabâValidatorsâ
When scheduling embarks and disembarks, DRAKE validate many factors defined in âParametersâ (For further information regarding parameter, visit the article: Parameters - Schedule Validators ). These validators star active for all operational units. In case it feels necessary to create an exclusive validation for this operational unit, click on âCustomized Validatorâ. All the active validators for this unit will be imported, being possible to add or delete the existent validators, creating a customized validator.

3.6.1Â To add a validator, click on âAddâ.

3.6.2Â Next, a new window will be opened. Select the validator and the configuration.

Validator:Â Validator type to be applied.
3.7 TabâRadio Frequenciesâ
In this page is possible to add the unitâs Radio Frequency history, where can be added information for customized reports by offshore workers.
3.8 TabâLogisticsâ
Can define parameters regarding the Unit logistics, such as embark address, standard time for embark and disembarks, etc.
The field âEmbark Addressâ search for predefined information, registered on Records - Addresses . Training responsible and Training logistic contact can be filled if necessary (by having a person responsible in this case), both originated from "Workers" registration (Records - Workers ).
3.9 TabâTR detailsâ
Include the information that will be considered relevant while creating TR (Travel requests). For this, select the options below.
3.10Â After finishing the registration, click on âSave and Closeâ to close or âSave and Newâ to register a new Operational Unit (OU).
Done that, the Operational Unit will be displayed on the list.
4 - Editing an Operational Unit
4.1Â To edit the Operational Unit, click above the listed unit.
4.2Â Next, a new window will be opened containing all registration data. Edit the necessary information and finish by clicking on âSave and Closeâ.

5 - Deleting Operational Units
5.1Â To delete one or more Operational Units, select the units to be deleted and click on âDeleteâ to finish.

Behind DRAKE is a database where the information entered into the system is linked internally, thus creating a complex network. If you try to delete an item that has a link with other pertinent information, the system will block your action. In this case, unlink any and all possible information linked to the unit record.
